I’ve been making these Bliss Balls for years and they are always a hit, with adults & kids.
They are full of seeds & nuts, both high in tryptophan which is an amino acid that creates niacin which produces serotonin in the body. It’s the serotonin that is thought to promote healthy sleep. For more tryptophan rich foods, see my Foods for Sleep Blog
100g cashews
100g almonds
2 tbsp linseed
2 tbsp pepitas
– blend the seeds & nuts together in a high-powered blender or thermomix
170g pitted medjool dates
50g dried apricots
50g sultanas
100g pitted prunes
– add the dried fruit & blitz together with the seeds & nuts
1 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp honey or agave syrup
Pinch of sea salt
– add the last few ingredients above and blitz
Roll into your perfect size bliss balls or press into a tray and refrigerate to slice into squares later (like the one’s pictured). These have been dusted with a little raw cacao powder.
These freeze really well.
Enjoy!
